We bought a new Inspiron 1520, and my wife insisted that it have a
webcam in it for her to Skype on it.
At work, I am able to use OBSD on an SATA drive, so I brought that
home, and popped it in to the new laptop and it works like a charm.
The problem comes when I attempt to upgrade to the latest snapshot.
bsd.rd boots all the way to the part where the webcam comes up, then
it hangs. It does not continue on.
I will say that when I boot the hardrive normally, it mounts the
webcam as "ugen0". I attempted to disable ugen0 in the UKC> before
starting bsd.rd, but this did not work. This is what comes up when
booting bsd.rd for the webcam...

Then nothing...
I looked in the BIOS, but there is no mention of the webcam, and no
way to disable that ( that I can see anyway...)
Any ideas on what I can do to get bsd.rd to boot and bypass the
webcam??? I am forced to use snapshots because attempting to use 4.2
ends up not seeing any of my interfaces needed to get on the
network...
Below is the dmesg for the snapshot from Oct 2. (I'd like to figure
out a why, short of physically disconnecting the webcam from the mobo)
Is there a "time-out" function when attempting to ascertain what
something is? Will OBSD give up after a while and continue on,
leaving that item in limbo?
