To test your reverse lookups, figure out what your ip address is (I like to use the entry listed in `w`, as that is what sshd would look up), then type `dig -x <ip address>`.
If it takes forever (but resolves), maybe you have a bunk nameserver listed in /etc/resolv.conf. If it doesn't resolve, you'll need to contact your network admin and have them add reverse names.
