You might want to look into buying a domain (5$/year, if you shop around) and using zoneedit. I've got a script that cron runs every few minutes to check if my IP has changed and if so, updates zoneedit. It's flakey, so I won't share, but it's really quite workable. You don't *have* to use cron, but it's easiest.
