Hi Guys,
This has become a real pain in the ass so I'm posting to
find out if anyone else is stuck in the same place and has
either managed to fix it or maintain their sanity ;).
Im trying to configure the CA. I can generate the CA
secret key but everytime I try to generate the CA request
all I get back is a white screen, no errors appear , no req
file is created.
I added trace statements to the GenCAReq app which is in
the cgi-ca/cmds section and found that it doesn't execute
the cryptgraphic shell bits properly. This lead me to
believe it was a problem with OpenSSL so I downloaded the
tar.gz file from the OpenCA ftp site as recommended and
tried that. Im running on S.u.S.E 7.3 and that has
perculiar ideas of where the openssl stuff should be
installed but eventually I got it configured properly (I
think, I uninstalled the S.u.S.E rpm and built from sources
and exported the path the /usr/local/ssl/bin/ and replaced
the shared libraries).
However I still have the same problem with the genCAReq
app!!!! Its driving me insane! Has anyone successfully
configured this on a S.u.S.E box or at least encountered
the same problems and knows how to work round/fix/properly
install OpenCA? I've run out of ideas..apart from manually
dishing out certificates to the company staff ;)!!
 Thanks in adavance...
E.
