-subj is an option which is supported ony in OpenSSL 0.9.7+. There are
two possibilities

1. you have only an OpenSSL 0.9.6 on your box

2. you configured the wrong path during ./configure

   solutions:
     2.1. Configure again with the correct OpenSSL-version
     2.2. Change all file in OPENCADIR/etc/servers/. The option openssl
must contain the correct binary of OpenSSL.
