Hello there, something to think about for the weekend...
Hey, it's my first free weekend since a long time. So I will answer now ;-)
In openca-0.9.0 all import/export files contained all the valid certificates etc. In 0.9.1-1 the data exchange files contain just delta information, i.e. new certificates that have not previously been imported to the RA. This is good and _MUCH_ better when running the service day to day.
It was one of the most frequently requested features.
If for some reason I trash my RA and need to rebuild it, how do I tell the CA to export evcerything ? At the moment it will just export certificates that it thinks have not yet been imported to the RA.
Is this also the same question for multiple RAs ? What if I build a second RA and want to import the configuration and then all the certificates ?
The exporting node has some directories var/log/enroll or var/log/upload depending on the direction which you use for export. These directories contain some files of the style $number_$datatype. $number is the module ID of the node to which you want to export the data. The datatype is from the exported objects.
1. If you need to export all the certificates again then you must remove alle data in the appropriate logfile.
2. If you created a new module ID (e.g. you setup another RA) then you have simply to touch the file $number_$datatype. The new file is empty and so all objects will be exported.
Chris, I think we should document this very well. Should it be part of the admin guide? Did you search for this topic in the guides, especially should we add a note in the FAQ appendix?
Have a nice weekend
