I know this is a little bit of topic, but I think most people on the list would be rather interessted in....
As everybody knows, there are some efforts of major players to invent hardware based platform security - aka TCPA or NGSCB (Microsoft).
On a related conference last week, Dirk Kuhlmann, a HP-Developer, called the community to found an initative to invent "Trustwothiness Computing" within OSS. (see here, unfortunatly german lang.. http://www.heise.de/newsticker/data/anw-12.10.03-000/)
I think beside implementing some techniques for using the TPM-hardware-modules it is more important to bring up usage-concepts and perhaps a kind of certification criteria for OSS.
So if anybody here is interessted in this stuff, please send me a mail. If there are enough people, I will make up a mailinglist and try to found a project.
