Hi,

I'm running OpenCA 9.2.5, and I've been using it to generate private
certificates (mostly for hardware - wireless access points and the like)
internally. Most of the certificates I've generated have been generated
manually through the CA->Initialisation->Create the initial ...
interface. However, this has become a pain, and I've returned to using
the batch interface. When I generate certificates in the batch
interface, they no longer have the "change passphrase" or download
"Certificate and Keypair" buttons available when the certificate is
displayed in the OpenCA certificates display (either in the CA or in
PUB). Why are the batch generated certificates different? In order to
collect the complete set (certificate and keypair) I can no longer use
the OpenCA web interface, but need to get the files directly from the
dataexchange/pkcs12 directory. The certificate table in the mysql
directory does have the key, so why should the web interface not allow
downloading the "Certificate and Keypair"?

I need to set a specific passphrase, which I don't know how to do in the
batch interface. Can someone explain how? I can always change the
passphrase later using openssl, but this is not satisfactory since at
some later time I will not be able to retrieve the certificate from
OpenCA unless I store all the passphrases. For these certificates used
only with hardware, I would need to give them all the same passphrase in
OpenCA to make management of the certificates easier.

Mike
