Hi together, perhaps this hint will help some of you falling into the same troubles: On my public node I tried to import data from the ra which is on another computer. I always only got the message that my import failed but no hint why it failed. After a long time i found out that I had a mistake in my filename, thus my public node tried to import a tar-ball, that did not exist in the directory and that was the reason why it failed.
If this does not help I read in some former postings that you should use the GNU tar instead of some distribution specific tar.
