Hi Sam,

I added the patch to the repository. I also fixed some problems in the
import/export modules (getNextItem and getPrevItem) that could cause some
problems.

I am not sure if we shall just publish the patch (which involves several
changes to different files) or try to publish a new version of OpenCA.

I would like for the second option to happen. But, based on the experience
with the current version, I wanted to add the possibility to "update" the
OpenCA package automatically (with a new command in the "node" management
interface that will allow to patch the commands, perl modules and functions).

OpenCA-ers (all of you), what would you prefer ?
- Fast patch (but multiple files involved, etc...)
- New version of OpenCA (released within the next month with the auto-update
  feature) ?

Later,
Max

One question, does your patch take into account the
differences in types for each DB ? That is, for MySQL and DB2 we can use
a different type for the same column.. does your patch gracefully take
that into account ?

Yes it should work, as it only specifies a specific type if it is DECIMAL or
BIGINT and those types are currently for numeric all DB's. But if it's for
example numeric in mysql and string in every other, then it could cause a
problem. However, this really should not happen. ;-)
(But a few tests with other DB's would be a good idea anyways.)

P.S.: Thanks again for the patch!!! :D

You're welcome! And thanks for putting so much effort into that project.

Cheers
Sam
