JavaCard is the implementation of a subset of the JavaVM and the Java API for a smartcard. So you write Applets that are running inside the card. OCF is a Framework to communicate with smartcard from a Desktop computer. So you can write applets for the cards and applications for the desktop. Booth sides can communicate via a standardised protocll (ISO 7816-3,4..). -Sebastian Saira Bhatti wrote: > > can javacard be used to write application(client application) that would run > on the PC for I/O on the card? > > - Saira > > --- > > Visit the OpenCard web site at http://www.opencard.org/ for more > > information on OpenCard---binaries, source code, documents. > > This list is being archived at http://www.opencard.org/archive/opencard/ > > !
