The VX800 is supported. The error message is just this particular board
is not known to the driver, which may or may not be needed for it to
work. In this case, the board only has VGA so it shouldn't really matter.

Could you please provide the full xorg log with latest release (0.2.906) ?
Check this for instruction to compile the driver :

Also, please describe what is happening when X starts.
