Hi,
I installed Ubuntu 12.04 on my father's laptop a month ago or so. Its
screen brightness (backlight, I don't really know what's the correct term)
is scary, though. It's really low. I mean, it's not unusable, but Windows
7 in the other partition is just fine, which means hardware is not the
problem.
lspci tells me that the VGA compatible controller is CN896/VN896/P4M900
(Chrome 9 HC). I ran the internet over looking for an answer. Compiled the
latest openchrome from source. I really don't know what to do other than
put it on trac, letting you guys know.
