Hi Carlos,
From Amphenol's perspective on the copper DACs, we should be covered if we leverage the IEEE802 standards.

Subject: [Opencompute-networking] Feedback on Optics Interop Test Plan
Sent by: [email protected]
Howdy,
It has been suggested that for the aforementioned test plan (http://www.opencompute.org/wiki/Networking/SpecsAndDesigns#Pluggable_Transceiver_and_Host_Compliance_and_Interopability_Test_Plan), that we include the following baseline tests for transceivers prior to interop testing:
* Optical eye mask - using a test board fixture (cleanest possible source), use a PRBS signal into TX and observe
* RX electrical eye
** For SFP+, TX through 300m of multi-mode fiber and observe
** For QSFP+, TX through 100m of multi-mode fiber and observe
As this only affects optical transceivers, we would like some equivalent baseline tests for copper from the experts. **wink, wink; nudge, nudge**
+--+
Carlos
