Hi all,

We have our monthly project call today, and first on the agenda is to welcome
our new project co-lead, Scott Emery from Cumulus Networks
(https://www.linkedin.com/in/scott-emery-96baa754)!

Scott is a networking industry veteran with a passion for Open Networking. He
started his career at 3Com with Ethernet NICs, and then moved to a startup that
was Cisco?s acquisition number #8 back in the mid 90?s (Grand Junction). He was
at Cisco working on various switching platforms before joining Cumulus Networks
4 years ago. Scott has been working on Open Networking for these past several
years and looks forward to working more closely with the entire OCP Networking
ecosystem. Please contact Scott and myself going forward on any OCP networking
topics ? his contact info is
[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> or
[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>. Welcome to Scott!

Also on the agenda will be:

- presentation of a Facebook proposal for data center optics called
CWDM4-OCP

- review/call for talks for engineering workshop for the Summit

- tech-day checkin

- Status review.

Usual monthly call logistics:

- Here?s the google doc with agenda, sign-in, and notes:

Hi Omar ( & welcome Scott),

I am inflight today so won't be able to make the call .. however, here are the
CBW updates and Action items :

- CBW needs a repo created on OCP-Github for CBW kernel development (*Amber
agreed to do that in 1H Jan 2017* ) ; just need the activity to completed.

- CBW will demo and showcase at least one CBW use case at the technology day on
March 7th (day before OCP Summit) ; same demo use case to be show cased at the
engineering workshop during OCP summit as well.

- CBW also submitted a talk proposal on OCP CBW H/W & S/W applicability for
creating new class of "open networking" solutions for campuses and branches.
(waiting on final decision for OCP )

- I also contacted and invited a large university (they run a large campus
environment with 25,000 students) ; very interesting application and can use
the CBW H/W (OCP APs & Branch switches) ; they will present their use case in
upcoming CBW monthly call (Jan or Feb) and why CBW makes sense for them.
