Thanks a lot for that information, and sorry for not having been
able to answer earlier, but I have been away on business for a
couple of days.

I will try this out and report if I encounter something.

I'm running sendmail (8.12.11-r3) on a Gentoo machine, kernel
2.4.26-r12.

The kernel is security enhanced, so it might well be that it
has to do with that.

Anyway, I will investigate further and report any findings.
