I do not have the RedHat packages installed, but there is a need to migrate the database (both mysql and sqlite) coming from pre-1.4.8 version. Check the MIGRATION file under the source tree for more details.
The latest version from the 1.4 branch is 1.4.13, I'm using it for some time now without any issues.
