Log Message:

Look for SIGPIPE and SIGQUIT.  Added handlers for those signals
to get SMP version to quit gracefulkly when connection to UI 
goes away.  Unfortunately, those signals don't exist on some systems -
notably MS (they do if you use cygwin).  Fortunately, SMP isn't supported
on MS, so the original problem doesn't come up.
