Yes, they are. Community's voice (non-binding votes) is as important
as committers' voice (binding votes) if not more important (think how
a project would look like with no influence from a community).
Well said. Anyone is welcome and encouraged to vote. Really, the
louder the community voice the better.
We committers are but humble servants here to execute the will of the
users and community. In a lot of ways, getting commit is like being
demoted :)
