I think that I have fixed the issue by overriding the following line in
php_7.4.4.bb:

PACKAGECONFIG[opcache] = "--enable-opcache,--disable-opcache"

  to

PACKAGECONFIG[opcache] = "--enable-opcache=shared,--disable-opcache"
