I've sketched a stable branch changelog page [1] to help with release
announcement and anxious users. Backporters: please add couple of lines
after you commit a change to the stable branch. It's oriented to users,
so please be brief. Developers should be able to find more details
changelogs from mtn log or gitweb.
Alternatively, the page can be put into a text file under the contrib/.
Either way...
