Hello. IMHO OpenERP right now manage this beheaviour in the middle without special_periods, and we think is a correct way, but, we are surprised because almost nobody use this, and the reason appear like is not well documented.

Are there a reason because we can not use this.....???????. In Venezuela, the FY close at 31 december, but you have at least until March 31 to make your close operation for last Fiscal Year... We are totally agree with journal_type= situation for openning process, but it looks like anybody use them for this..... I have a problem with concepts or this have some wrong behaviour that i haven't discover yet? I think all this concepts: * special_open * special_close + calculated and displayed values for selected fiscal year in account_account * balance_init * balance_unclosed * debit_fy * credit_fy Can be managed filtering movements in this journal without aditional fields "At least that you need have them precalculated" Please guys take a look of our commentaries in this topic, because we review in depth and we think there are a lot of thing with this that can be managed very well without "special_periods!"....
