Hello accounting experts and OpenERP S.A., Once a gain, before the v6 freeze I would like to insist we did what is probably the most serious report_intrastat refactoring so far cause we have at least one large customer using it in production in France, see my comments here on that bug report (I pointed our work to a user at least): https://bugs.launchpad.net/openobject-addons/+bug/618631
I don't think this is only about a doing a brutal merge or not but probably need to discuss what we did (there are possible improvements). Especially, there is a large part of that work that we reuse somewhat for the Brazilian localization (a federal state with different tax legislations in each state is a bit like exchanging goods in europeans countries, it means you need to bookkeep the product moves between states in a way similar to invoices but that are not exactly invoices), that would be better to abstract a common basis here rather than having similar but incompatible modules. The day one company will want to work both in Europe and Brazil with the same ERP, it will break, this is the current situation so far. If some of you or OpenERP S.A. have some availability to discuss a merge, that would be a pleasure. Otherwise we will still be forced to use our own branch of report_intrastat rather than the official one, even in v6, I think this is bad because we largely did what legal requirement impose and tested in production.
