Why don't you try to configure the related account itself? eg sales within NL 19% . This will cause the same behavior as mentioned in the beginning of your message. This is how the financial admins commonly do. Call me if you have any question. A product template or category can have such an account as a default income or expense account. When such a product is invoiced directly, the taxes from the configured accounts are applied to the invoice (when no taxes are entered specifically on the product). Other parts of the system, such as purchase or sale orders do not support this and need the taxes to be configured directly on each and every product. Having the taxes deriving from the product category is therefore a very natural configuration. I would like to gather your support for the implementation of this behaviour throughout the system.
