In addition to report_aeroo, there is another option: this module by Simone Orsi:
https://bitbucket.org/domsense/web_export_view modifies the standard openerp csv/xls export feature to export exactly the columns that are shown in the current view, without asking for further input. In that case, you can go to your favorite view, journal items for example, and press the new button. I suppose the module should be moved to launchpad at some point (and be visible on apps as a result). It's beta, please test!
