Dear all, Would it be possible to know whether OpenERP finally supports purchasing of intra-european goods without VAT.
Under French laws and probably many others, purchasing without VAT does NOT mean 0% tax. This also means that you should apply VAT on purchase and then clear VAT. Which is finally 0%. But this allows customs and tax to verify the amount of intra-european purchase over the period and clear VAT between European states. Without this, OpenERP accounting should not be used in the European-Union. I am not an expert, but this could also mean that OpenERP SA as a European developer is bound to follow European rules. Limited responsability or rules like "this is free software folks" probably don't apply and are void. Without answer from OpenERP team on the list, I will write an official letter to OpenERP asking them to support intra-european purchase without VAT. In the past, I opened a support request asking for official support and it was closed by OpenERP employees. So this probably means that OpenERP is aware that OpenERP does not follow accounting guidelines and is probably illegal in the European-Union.
