It is probably out of the question due to an added dependency on c++.
It adds a problem with the Windows compilers which don't share c++
semantics. It could be possible to treat it all as a black box perhaps
with a DSO/DLL built separately, but it adds an additional dependency on
ffmpeg which already has too many.
