Using latest cvs...
It seems IlmBase's configure is not correct and will compile and link
the static version of the library without -fPIC. This will later show
up as a (somewhat deceiving) link error when linking against a static
IlmImf.
The windows distribution seems to have removed the ability to compile
statically (unlike what I believe 1.2 and earlier had, IIRC).
