Well, it's MWC in Barcelona so all these fancy VPs, CEOs, CTOs and all other kind of managers throwing around buzzwords. Personally I'll wait for some hard facts and code. What counts for me is the freedom to do with this device whatever I like, keep GSM hacking aside. It is great for some people to have an API and libs where they can code some small apps against, but I like to the possibility to change the whole UI, install a patched kernel, etc.. Yeah, I know, I'm not the "target-group". Hmm, drifting into non-technical stuff. A main point we always have to keep in mind is that all these standards groups and vendor forums that throw around with buzzwords like linux and FOSS do this to have cheaper development cycles, not to give more power to the customers. regards Stefan Schmidt
