if you can`t open mux, maby boot was too long, so it paniced.
you can try to start qpe with

export QTOPIA_PHONE_DUMMY=1

this will disable using mux using fake gsm unstead.

i didn`t try to work with mux without flashing gen-blob

i`m not using ezxd at all.
