Uploading a moto2.4 kernel with boot_usb to gen-blob is not expected to work at all. The moto2.4 kernel cant deal correctly with the already initialized framebuffer and BP state. Booting the moto2.4 kernel is only supported from the MMC card, on /boot/default (entering the menu before booting it will also not work), or from the flash memory. -- Daniel Ribeiro
