Let me preface this by saying that this has happened with every install that
I have tried. If it is so reliably reproducable by me I am guessing that
there are others who have come across it also.

After a while, sometimes 2 - 3 days, sometimes over a week ftp connections
just start getting refused.

The only consistent thing about this problem is that for the last two times
it has happened after running "yum update" This time after doing the update
a couple of hours ago.

I've checked via browser management and ftp services are enabled, I've
stopped and started, rebooted etc all with no change.

http access is unaffected as I can still get to the CentOS Samba default
page and Samba access is also ok.

I am not running any authentication servers but have the server setup for
guest access. Everything, including ftp, was running perfectly prior to
doing the update but since doing the update all ftp connections are refused.
This is exactly what happened the last time.

Has anyone else ever run across this problem?

I have no space left to do a backup and re-install any more so it would be
great if I could get help finding the problem and fixing it, and especially
stopping it from happening again.
