I don't really want/need to backup/restore the whole server.  In addition to my original question, lets say I already have two openfiler servers and I only want to transfer some of the disks from one to the other.
It would be nice to be able to plug an existing disk into a new openfiler server and just take across the setup info for that disk.

amanda is included in the distro, its a cross platform application - I
am sure google will dig up plenty of docs on howto use it.
