Chun,

I believe you are running into the same problem that VMware ESX Server
has running RHEL 4 update 2. You need to use the LSI logic SCSI driver.
In addition, you need to be running ESX 2.5.3, and you also need to
download a driver disk from VMware, and boot from that first.

RHEL 4 update 2, and Centos 4.2 have a problem with the LSI logic driver
that is included in the kernel, which causes it to not see any hard
drives. See the VMware site for more details.

Regards,
Luke

Subject: [OF-users] OF2 on vmware ESX ?

Hi,

I want to try openfiler 2.0 on a vmware esx server. I am having problems
getting centos to recognise the HD. I have 4 virtual HD, all scsi.
I have tried vmxbuslogic which results in it not being seen and vmx
lsilogic which causes esx to error. I am using esx 2.5.1 build 13057.

I did install openfiler 1.x ok on the buslogic driver.

Has anyone installed openfiler 2 on esx successfully?

thanks
