You cannot have your "homes" folder pointing to an existing share (only
an existing folder)
I don't have the homes-Folder pointing to share, but to a Logical
Volume. Looking at it through SSH i can clearly see the 'homes' folder,
but no userfolders within.
Path:
/mnt/main/ (VG)
/mnt/main/staff/ (LV)
/mnt/main/staff/homes/ (supposed dir to hold the users home folders; NOT
shared & not visible at all in Services > SMB Settings > SMB homes volume)
So for instance, if this is your tree:
VG
LV
Folder1 <--- allocated as share, cannot be made homes folder
Folder2 <--- not allocated as share, can be made homes folder
There are only the two available LVs listed in the drop-down, no folders
(I have at least two of them which aren't shared and they really don't
show up there).
I'm really stuck ...
