        3.5.3. Windows Domain Controller Configuration

The Windows Domain Controller option is likely to be the most common
method for importing user and group information to support Windows-based
network clients. To configure a Windows domain controller, scroll down
to the Windows domain controller row of the User Information
Configuration table and check the *|Use Windows domain controller|*
checkbox. Before proceeding further with this portion of the
configuration, set the NetBIOS name for the Openfiler appliance in the
"SMB Settings" section. Navigate to the SMB Settings section by clicking
the Services tab and then the SMB settings tab in the Services page. The
Server string field is an identifier used to describe the Openfiler
appliance. The *|NetBIOS name |*field should contain a unique name, with
no spaces, to uniquely identify the Openfiler appliance when it
registers itself with the Active Directory or NT4 domain. You may also
enter comma separated IP addresses of any WINS servers on the network in
the *|WINS server|* field. After configuring the SMB settings, return to
the Authentication page by clicking the Accounts tab.
