Hello,
First off, I'm not a Linux expert, nor have I ever done any driver development. Now for my problem: I would like to try out OpenFiler but I can't get a working driver for the LSI 8888ELP SAS PCI-E RAID card or the Adaptec onboard RAID adapter (ESRB2 driver). I can't run FreeNAS either for the same reason. I don't think there are any drivers for rPath linux available (definitely not on LSI's website) and FreeBSD has little driver support. The onboard isn't a huge deal but it is imperative that the 8888ELP is supported. I saw there is a new version of OpenFiler coming out soon. You guys think it might have some built in driver support? I got CentOS 5 running just fine and setup a NAS server but I think it'd be cool to use a custom tailored OS that wasn't so bloated... Thanks in advance, Ryan Bray Test Engineer Verari Systems, Inc.
