That error is an indicator you're hitting the MAXPATH limit in the Windows lib your application was written in. This is not related to Openfiler and will happen when copying to a Windows server just the same (assuming same Computer/Share names of the Windows server as is on the Openfiler server). You're frustrated with Openfiler ? I for one am frustrated with Windows and it's treatment of long file paths and multiple code page filenames as second class citizens.
To resolve your problem, use Robocopy to populate the storage. Version XP026 or later. Do not use XP010 or any older version. If you have Vista, the latest copy is in the system32 dir.
