Gents, Could you please let me know if the following logic is flawed? Currently, we have Openfiler (2.2). There is a 800GB iSCSI Volume which is being used by ESX server 3.5. All the VMs live on this iSCSI export. There is 1.6TB unallocated on the same volume on Openfiler at the moment.
How would you recommend backing up this Volume? Would it make sense to create snapshots of this iSCSI volume, and do backups via lvm? In essence, do the following: "dd if=/dev/vg1/iSCSIsnapshot of=/dev/blah" *blah* being some other cheap storage. THANKS! Vasiliy
