Hello,

I’m using OF 2.2, and I’m having a problem getting OF to detect one of my ethernet cards.

I have 3 NICs on my PC : an on-board ethernet controller (Realtek 8111C), and 2 D-Link DGE-528T ethernet cards. During installation, OF picked up the on-board controller (as *eth0*), plus one of the D-Link cards (as *eth1*). It’s rather strange that the 2^nd D-Link card was not detected, seeing as it’s exactly the same model as the other one. Anyway, the on-board controller isn’t working properly (I suspect that’s because there is no Linux driver for it), but that doesn’t matter too much, as I really wanted to use the 2 D-Link cards (one for the public network, the other one for a private network).

My question is – how can I now (i.e. after having done the installation) configure the network to include the 2^nd D-link ethernet card. If it was a full version of Red Hat Linux, for example, I could have used a GUI tool called *system-config-network*, but unfortunately the latter doesn’t exist on the version of Linux that comes with OF.

I’d be most grateful for any ideas on that subject.

Taman,
There are numerous howto's available, ie:
