There's also the Netkit emulator: http://wiki.netkit.org/index.php/Main_Page which I know some groups have used, such as the Nettle developers (see their source files) and also: http://www.cc.gatech.edu/~sburnett/posts/2010-05-20-resonance-netkit.html
but I personally only have experience with Mininet.
