Hi Carlos, You can use a whole bunch of heuristics to decide where a host is connected to. For example, packet-in's can be useful. Or you can try to ping the host. But none of this is guaranteed to work. This is a hard problem in itself.
For SNMP, I suggest you get SNMP to work with Floodlight first. I used NOX (classic) which I augmented to work with SNMP. If Floodlight does not have such support now, someone would need to do that. It might as well be you if you have the incentive to do so.
