Please make sure the captcha does not rely solely on image recognition -- not only because those have been mostly cracked, unless you write a custom one or use one of Neville Brody's experimental fonts :-) but also because of accessibility, e.g. for people with poor vision, astigmatism, differing colour perception etc. A simple arithmetic test, 1 + 3 = [___] seems to be sufficient in most cases, for example.
