Hi, usually the gatekeeper doesn't assign extension numbers (or 'aliases' like H.323 calls them) to endpoints. The endpoint registers with an alias (or more commonly a list of aliases) and thats what the gatekeeper uses to identify the destination of a call.
Using [email protected] is a very common format to use ('Annex O dialing'). All you need to do is configure your endpoint to add this alias to its registration with the gatekeeper and then the other endpoints can call it using this name.
