Would it be possible to postpone this conference until September, in such a
way that it could be held just around the same dates of MedInfo ?
For us people from South America it always a delight to visit Europe, but it
is also hard to have the funds to make two trips in the same year.

Subject: OSHCA Second Annual Meeting to be Hosted by UK NHS
I am delighted to announce that the United Kingdom's National Health System
Information Authority has offered to host the second annual Open Source
Health Care Alliance meeting (www.oshca.org
Location and Dates:
The final location and dates are to be confirmed but we are currently aiming
for a two day meeting in June in either Birmingham or London, with London
being the preferred location.
Theme:
A great deal of energy and ideas from listserver participants went into
developing OSHCA's charter which became focal point for last year's meeting.
I would like to suggest that this year's theme focus on putting the concepts
to work or "walking the talk." Here are some concrete things that I believe
OSHCA needs in its next phase of evolution:
It needs commitment - OSHCA will need to evolve from a group of supporters
to members in order for it to have substance.
It needs hands and feet - nothing gets done without individuals contributing
time and effort, it is time that OSHCA had a team of individuals that helped
develop and guide its activities.
The meeting would span two days with the first day being split between
presentations and a business meeting to address OSHCA's evolution. The
second day would be devoted to work shops to stimulate collaboration and
synergy.
Volunteers Needed
To make this a relevant and effective meeting we will need your help:
1. I need volunteers willing to be part of the small team organizing the
meeting.
2. Ideas for topics of discussion, speakers, format etc. will be most
welcome.
If you would like to volunteer please reply to me directly at:

Last and definitely not least I would like to thank Colin Smith of the NHS
IA for turning what was just an idea at a meeting we had last fall into a
reality.
Looking forward to some lively discussion and creative ideas on the
listserver.
Cheers,
Joseph
