Hello Dr. Ho,

I wasn't offended in the slightest. I was making sure that you understood
that your postings were containing emotional loading. As you are no doubt
aware, email can be very subjective and the "voice" that the email is read
can change its meaning drastically. I have been guilty of firing back a
response or two without thinking clearly and ended up flaming someone
without declaration of war. :) I just wanted to help you understood why some
of the replies you were getting back seemed defensive.

As to Minoru publishing databases, running IV out of business, whatever, the
proof is in the pudding. I mentioned to Tim Cook in a sidebar posting, that
you, him, Thomas Beale, Wayne Wilson, Horst, and many many others are
contributing daily to the quality of each other's projects. I can't really
comment or criticize ANYONE contributions because my contribution has been
zero. I believe in open-source so much that I will never willing become a
slave to closed-source software. Things that benefit open-source benefit me
and for the record I don't think that RMS is extreme <VBG>

If Minoru has some hidden agenda that threatens open-source then okay, we
drop them like a hot potato. Other places can host email lists and it is
not a problem to find other resources to do things as important as advancing
open-source medical software. I am trying to not take sides even though as
I read back over my last few sentences I looks like I have. OIO will
prosper because you are pushing it. FreePM will prosper because Tim is
pushing it. GEHR will prosper because Thomas is pushing it. Not even The
Shadow Knows what Horst is doing. <VBG> If Minoru wants to grow and prosper
then they too will need to grow in the ways of the open-source community.
If IBM can get "open-source" then there is hope for anyone.

My stated goal is to wait and see what Minoru produces and evaluate them on
the merits of their output. I shouldn't even say as much as I have said
already, since a friendly debate now and again is about the best I do.

Thank you for your time
