When I combine my current skill set with the costs involved in implementing the RAD (and other CORBA) specification(s) balanced with the resonably expected returns, the numbers just do not add up to be positive on the bottom line. Yes, everything does come down to money. Open source or proprietary, the requirement for me to eat at least one meal tomorrow still exists. <g> I do expect that one day in the future FreePM will morph into an application that can boast of that robustness. What we have works and it is available now. Certainly we do not plan for this to be the last version. I think the above commentary represents the other side (probably minority) of many of the discussions on this list. It seems that many list members are salaried government employees or employees of large organizations that may / may not receive government funding. I think the combination of the two groups helps to balance the discussions between "Very Best Practices" and "Good Enough Practices". While we all would 'like' to adhere to the "Very Best Practices" methodology, "Good Enough Practices" is often reality. ;-) Cheers, -- Tim Cook
