Whoever wants to participate in the gnotary peer-to-peer digital notary
service, can now download a functional gnotary server from
http://gnumed.net/gnotary/download/gnotary.0.3.1.tgz

Gnotary is free software in the sense of the GPL (see http://www.gnu.org for
details of the GPL licensing)

It is early alpha test version; seems to work but might still contain bugs.
It is not well documented yet, and there is little done yet in terms of error
and exception handling - regardit as highly unstable though it has been
runnning without a problem for a week now on my machine.

DO NOT FORGET TO READ THE README FILE!!!

All you need to run it is a POP3 account. Gnotary is a Python script. To
runit, you need to install Python. If you don'thave it yet, you can download
it from http://www.python.org

I have tested the script only on Linux, but it should run unmodified on
Windows and Macs as well (please let me know if there are incompatibility
issues)

I hope as many people as possible will have a go and test it - of course,
this initial version should only be tested by people with at least some
minimum of programming knowledge.

I am waiting for feedback and error reports.
I hope that a few of you wil help to extend the script to make it a full
featured and reliable digital notary. The next version will be hosted on
sourceforge with public CVS access.
