Hi Philippe,
RIS means Radiological Informatic System and it is devoted to the management
of reports and exam workflow.
PACS means Picture Archiving and Communication System and it manages the
radiological images, such as Computed Tomography, Computed Radiography,
Ultrasound imaging, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, and so on.
Another important software is the web distribution of radiological data
(reports & images): at this moment this software has no name.
In our experience Oracle is a BIG database, perhaps it is too expensive, but
Interbase is also a very good database. We choose Interbase because it is an
Open Source database.
Bye,
Claudio
