This article is a good example.  I'd like to point out the relevancy of new
products like .NET to open source products for healthcare.  .NET is
important to consider because it will be adopted by so many people for
whatever reason.

GNOME (http://www.gnome.org), should be considered as a development platform
for your healthcare applications, IMHO.  Same for Mono
(http://www.go-mono.com).
